Pannonia Grün is a chlorite slate from Austria and is extracted in the quarry in Geschriebenstein in Burgenland. Quarrying is particularly ecological, energy-saving and sustainable. Instead of blasting, the precious raw material is cut from the rock using innovative wire saws. Due to relatively favorable climatic conditions, the winter break is only a few weeks and so the green rock, which resembles marble, is extracted almost all year round. The natural slate Pannonia Green is therefore very readily available.
The special feature of Pannonia Green is its different structure, which changes depending on the cutting direction and forms either a white, light or dark green grain. When cut against the bed, or by cutting in the bed, gently undulating shapes and or lively structures are created in the stone.
