ART STONES

Artificial stone is a durable and affordable alternative to natural stone that is suitable for both indoor (e.g. window sills) and outdoor design. The look is deceptively reminiscent of natural stone and therefore does not appear artificial, but elegant.

Production of cast stone

Artificial sandstone or earth stone is made from natural rock chips or natural stone granules that are bound with either cement or synthetic resin. Depending on the raw material and binder, this method can be used to create looks that are deceptively similar to natural stone. Artificial stones that are produced by humans as building blocks, such as cast stone (terrazzo), do not count as artificial stones in the strict sense.

Types of cast stone slabs

Porcelain stoneware is a type of ceramic made from clay, feldspar and sand, which is frost-resistant due to its low water absorption and can therefore also be used outdoors. We also offer large-format tiles up to three meters in length.

Quartz material consists of quartz granulate (93 %), color pigments and synthetic resin and is hardened under high pressure. Quartz stone is more resistant than natural stone and therefore offers additional application possibilities. Thanks to the color pigments, quartz composite can be colored as desired and with high color density.

Advantages of cast stone

Artificial stone is produced in uniform slabs, each batch of which has a uniform appearance. Artificial stone is also lighter and cheaper than natural stone, extremely temperature-resistant, breathable and easy to clean. This means that the slabs can be easily polished, processed, installed and bonded. If desired, elements made of natural stone layers can be applied to the face side, as is the case with gravestones, for example.

Big, bigger, Maxfine

Large-format tiles have been in vogue for several years now. Even the giants among them, such as the Maxfine with 300 x 150 cm, are gradually becoming almost standard. Simply refer to the illustrations for the tile sizes.

No wonder, given these advantages: Architects appreciate the calm, uniform appearance. The even surfaces make rooms look larger and lend them a subtle elegance. And the larger the individual field, the fewer the joints. This is also what makes the large formats so popular with building owners and tenants - because cleaning the joints is reduced to a minimum.

The maximum format is an incredible 300 x 150 cm, with a material thickness of just 6 mm. They are currently THE highlight among ceramic tiles. Due to the low thickness, the material is relatively light and also very flexible in its application. They are suitable for floors or walls, but also for kitchen worktops, facades or cladding for furniture and doors.

As the large formats are also porcelain stoneware slabs, the properties in use are correspondingly uncomplicated: All slabs are resistant to acids and alkalis, absorb hardly any moisture and are very easy to clean. They are exclusively "Made in Italy" and are produced using a very innovative and environmentally friendly technology.

Use of artificial stone

Thanks to its durability, cast stone is suitable as floor tiles for floors in continuous use. Artificial stone can also be used for worktops such as kitchen worktops, washstands and window sills. Cast stone is also suitable for wall design. Special work can also be carried out by a stonemason.
