At the end of March, our "House P" project was awarded 3rd place in the Austrian Natural Stone Design Prize. The award ceremony took place at the Kongresshaus in Bad Ischl as part of the Education Week. Out of a total of 45 projects submitted in the three categories of design, gravestone and apprentice work, our project was honored under anonymous evaluation by a renowned jury.
The prize is awarded every two years by the Federal Guild of Building Trades, Professional Group of Stonemasons in cooperation with the Hallein Stone Center. Originally created to promote outstanding design with natural stone, it recognizes craftsmanship at the highest level. The quality of the design execution, the functional and technical construction, the choice of materials and appropriate use of natural stone as well as the consideration of all spatial conditions and customer satisfaction were decisive factors in the jury's decision.

House P is located on the edge of the Vienna Woods, surrounded by lush green nature. The villa's unusual and unique floor plan, which is reminiscent of a fan, presented the team with a demanding challenge. Only through careful planning and attention to detail was it possible to align all the edges of the stone slabs exactly along the lines of the floor plan. These lines not only run through the interior, but also extend seamlessly across the terrace to the façade, allowing the outdoor facilities to blend harmoniously with the building. For example, when the glass walls are opened to the spacious terrace, the pool moves into the immediate vicinity of the living space, blurring the boundaries between the living areas.
